I Dinked Up: So We're Moving to WhatsApp!
Hey Dinkville Community,
I’ve got to be honest with you—I messed up. I really thought moving everyone from GroupMe to Discord would be a great move for our community. It worked for a little bit, but it quickly became too complex and started losing people. Then we tried the Spond app. While some of you are familiar with Spond for creating events and chatting in other groups, it just doesn’t have the tools we need to truly manage our community now that we've grown so large.
So, after trying out a few platforms, I owe you an apology, but we're making another change—this time to WhatsApp. I truly believe this is going to be our go-to spot for the long haul.
Why WhatsApp?
- General Chat: We’ll have a general chat where everyone can connect, talk pickleball, post pictures, share events, and more.
- Skill-Level Groups: We’re setting up three groups under the Dinkville community: advanced, intermediate, and beginner players. This way, you can connect with players at your skill level. Whether you're looking for a game or just some pickleball talk, you can jump into your group and get started.
- Event Creation: Want to set up a game? Just hit the plus sign in the chat, create an event, and have people join you. You can also post pictures, videos, or just chat about anything pickleball-related.
We’re going to house all our members in the WhatsApp and Dinkville App, so there will always be someone to play with any time of the day. Just get in there and start communicating!
